Carol Alexander, professor of finance at Sussex University, told CNBC recently Bitcoin will "probably crash" in 2022.
She said last month: “If I were an investor now I would think about coming out of bitcoin soon because its price will probably crash next year."
Professor Alexander added that Bitcoin “has no fundamental value” and serves as more of a “toy” than an investment.
As reported by CNBC, Professor Alexander warned of history repeating itself, as in 2018, Bitcoin tumbled close to $3,000 (£2,200) after climbing to a high of nearly $20,000 (£14,000) a few months earlier.
