A statue in Budapest dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto
Have you ever wondered about the identity of the bitcoin creator? coz I am curious. So here's what I found about Satoshi Nakamoto while trying to find out who he/ or they are.
13 years ago, a paper was submitted by a person or a group called Satoshi Nakamoto describing a new software system called bitcoin. At first no one cared about who he or they are (yes, it is still a mystery whether Satoshi Nakamoto is an individual or a group I also can't find other leads about his/their identity aside from the name Satoshi Nakamoto) and people were skeptical about an electronic cash idea or bitcoin itself. Because before bitcoin's whitepaper was even published a lot already tried the idea of having an electronic cash for more than a decade but failed (I will also be skeptical too, most of us are always afraid of change, but look at us now aren't we embracing the crypto currency world?).
Details taken from The Wall Street Journal:
On Jan. 9, 2009, Nakamoto launched the bitcoin network. The first bitcoin transaction went from Nakamoto to Mr. Finney. Mr. Finney was someone who just got curious about it and worked remotely with Nakamoto then, For about two years, as bitcoin slowly grew, Nakamoto wrote on message boards and privately exchanged emails with developers. In December 2010, Nakamoto stopped posting publicly, and stopped talking with developers in 2011. Nakamoto passed leadership of the project to Gavin Andresen, a software developer.
I also found out that Satoshi Nakamoto also devised the very first blockchain database and was active in the development of bitcoin up to 2010.
Question is Satoshi Nakamoto rich? Coz if ever I was the creator of bitcoin I would've made sure to have some bitcoin myself. Here's a speculation about him/them:
There are about one million bitcoins that were “mined” in bitcoin’s first year that have never been moved. It is assumed that those one million bitcoins are controlled by Nakamoto—and only Nakamoto. That would make Nakamoto one of the 30 richest people in the world, according to the Forbes real-time billionaires list.
