What happens if you jump in the water while being chased by the cops in GTA games

Lol it's funny how the cops in the older GTA games can't swim as well. It's like as if none of the NPCs in that game can swim. In GTA: San Andreas it's hilarious how Cj can swim yet the cops can't and they'd drown right away. 🤣
