They put the metal balls inside the pipe to shape it perfectly inside. The first metal ball is big enough but had to be pushed and squeezed inside the pipe so it would shape it. The second one is a bit more smaller and used just to push the first ball. They have to be very accurate in shaping the insides of a pipe since the flow of liquid would have to be seamless when the pipe will be used for its purpose.
