It's been a decade since these games has been launched. I wasn't really excited to play this back then 'cause I wasn't familiar with the Pokemons in this game but then as time went by, I enjoyed it and even got my starters up to level 70 and was able to beat the Legendary Pokemons too easily lol. Were you able to play this game on DS or even on emulators? It' really fun.
