Ohh sure you made it out "fine" by your own metric. Meanwhile, it took me a while to notice that the years of "discipline" I received from my parents messed me up in a handful of aspects. Not to mention the countless others who grew up with anger in their hearts because of the "disciplining" they've endured. I get that alternative methods of parenting exists and has its own downfall but I'll be damned before I lay a hand on my child should I decide to have one.

no one turns okay from discipline like that. there will never be an acceptable reason to hurt your child even if it is for "discipline".
