Having a maximum wanted level in GTA games while being on top of a high building

Basically, in all the games except GTA IV, the police helicopters will shoot you. Eventually if they keep at it they will kill you, even if the narrator said that the cops in GTA: San Andreas are bad at aiming. Eventually they won't stop and still hit you. You're only safe in GTA IV since they won't do anything until you climb down.
